NCT DREAM Unveils Sci-Fi Inspired Trailer for Fifth Album ‘Go Back To The Future’
Bold K-pop group NCT DREAM has set the stage for their fifth full-length album, Go Back To The Future, by dropping a concept trailer that takes fans on a sci-fi journey through time. The teaser, named NCT DREAM: We Don’t Need Roads, premiered on June 28 via the group’s official YouTube channel, revealing a story where the members ride hoverboards and slip between different eras.
What’s really cool is how the album’s story is built around three distinct time zones: the Past, the Present (specifically 2025), and an imagined far future called the Absolute Present. The members stumble upon a hoverboard that’s also a time machine, leading them to explore these timelines while mixing retro and futuristic vibes.
The trailer is packed with scenes of all seven members zooming through this composite world on hoverboards. They’re chasing the sparks of romance and curiosity missing in their dystopian current time. The group uses futuristic gadgets and even supernatural abilities to shake up their rigid world, adding to the excitement and suspense of this narrative.
One interesting detail is that the production got the official thumbs-up from the creative teams behind Back to the Future, including Amblin Entertainment and Universal Studios. The trailer nods to the movie with lots of visual callbacks, from classic props to changing architectural styles and surreal elements like red skies and robotic sidekicks.
Go Back To The Future boasts nine tracks, headlined by double title songs BTTF and CHILLER. These tracks dive into the rollercoaster of emotions and unexpected happenings that occur during NCT DREAM’s quest to find their best, brightest selves. Fans can look forward to the album dropping on July 14 at 6 PM KST across all major music platforms, with physical copies available the very same day.
