RESCENE earns historic first major network win on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’ with ‘Pretty Girl’

RESCENE, a rookie girl group, won their first major network music program trophy on July 25 when their song ‘Pretty Girl’ claimed the top spot on MBC’s ‘Show! Music Core’.
The group’s ‘Pretty Girl’ beat out aespa’s ‘Lemonade’ and Yeonjun’s ‘Ice Cream’ on the July 25 broadcast. They had earlier taken a music show win on SBS Life’s ‘The Show’ on the 14th with the same title track. That earlier win and this new major network victory marked a milestone in their early career and helped close out what the source described as a successful first chapter.
Their rise followed steady, long-term growth driven by viral self-produced social content that pushed public recognition and strong digital chart results. The momentum began in March when member Woni uploaded a short-form video titled ‘Geoje Yaho’ with member Minami on her personal YouTube channel. The clip quickly surpassed 10 million views.
Fans also responded to the on-camera chemistry and regional dialect banter involving Woni and Zena. The channel grew past 1.5 million subscribers and a wave of new fans followed. That surge led to appearances on MBC’s ‘Omniscient Interfering View’ and appointments as honorary ambassadors for their hometowns of Geoje, Suwon, Gyeongju, and Goyang.
Online interest then fed into music consumption, helping the group reach top chart positions and secure a major network music show trophy.

The July 25 broadcast of ‘Show! Music Core’ also featured performances from J.Y. Park, U-Know Yunho, Sunmi, Hyolyn, Wonho, fromis_9, BBGIRLS, Jeon Yu-jin, Oh Yu-jin, FIFTY FIFTY, 8TURN, and LUN8.
