Responding to ENHYPEN Fans: The K-Pop Idol Who Left His Group and How Supporters Helped Reinstate Him

ENHYPEN‘s Heeseung is out of the group.
The agency Belift Lab confirmed Heeseung’s departure. Heeseung posted a handwritten letter explaining why he’s leaving. Fans immediately reacted with shock and anger. Protests and boycotts are being planned to pressure the company into re-adding him.
But fans are wondering — has any idol ever left and then returned to the same group?

Some K-pop groups have had members leave and then return, though fan protests rarely played a major role. One famous case is the legendary boy group g.o.d.
Debuted in 1999 under SidusHQ with JYP Entertainment’s help, g.o.d nearly disbanded early on. In 2021, Joon Park was removed after dating rumors involving actress Han Go Eun. The decision shocked members who were kept in the dark.
Joon held a tearful press conference to speak out about SidusHQ’s treatment.
Fans hit back hard. They left the official fan club, returned merchandise, and threatened concert boycotts. The other g.o.d members publicly opposed Joon’s removal at their own press conference, without the agency’s knowledge.
By November 2001, Joon was back in the group. g.o.d remained active solo and together, even after their 2006 hiatus.
ENHYPEN fans are watching closely to see if Heeseung will follow a similar route.
