Running Man Warns of 3.9 Million KRW Scam Amid Impersonation Fraud
Running Man, the popular variety show by SBS, has issued a warning regarding a concerning impersonation scam involving fake requests for luxury liquor deliveries.

On May 15, the show announced that scammers posing as staff members demanded bulk orders of expensive alcohol, emphasizing that they never make such requests under any circumstances. Viewers are advised to disregard any suspicious messages to avoid falling victim to fraud.
The warning comes after an incident reported to the Suwon South Police Station in Gyeonggi Province, where a karaoke bar owner lost 3.9 million KRW (approximately $2,791) after being tricked into transferring money for three bottles of premium whiskey and delivery fees, with the scammer claiming to be a producer from the show.
This incident highlights a rising trend of impersonation scams targeting individuals through false claims related to entertainment professionals. Various public figures, including singers and actors like Nam Jin, Yoon Jong Shin, and Ha Jung Woo, have raised awareness on this issue.
SBS has assured viewers that they will take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future as they continue to investigate the matter.
