Seoul City Government Goes All In To Support BTS’s Comeback

BTS’ comeback is sparking massive city-wide prep in Seoul, with the government pulling out all stops for fan safety and fair prices.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government held a big meeting on March 4 at City Hall, personally led by Mayor Oh Se Hoon. He called BTS’s return a “king’s return” and said the event is huge for Seoul’s global image.

Large crowds are expected around Gwanghwamun Square and Seoul Plaza. To handle this, Seoul is launching a prevention-first plan. That means extra safety staff, divided event zones to stop crowding, and expert-reviewed safety protocols. They’ll monitor crowds live using urban data and CCTV.

On the event day, they’ll manage entry and exit flows, prevent surges during shows, have fire and medical teams ready, and keep evacuation routes open.

Transport plans include nonstop subway service nearby, bus detours, and stricter pedestrian safety measures. Seoul is also suspending public bike rentals and shared mobility devices near event zones to lower accident risks.

Seoul is cracking down on price gouging. They’ll inspect hotels for inflated prices or forced cancellations. Mystery shoppers will check shops and markets for unfair pricing. Fans can report issues to city hotlines or the Korea Tourism Organization.

Mayor Oh Se Hoon said this comeback is not just for fans but vital for Seoul.
