Shin Ye Eun Cast As Lead In K-Drama “High School Queen”

Shin Ye Eun is confirmed as the lead for the upcoming drama High School Queen.

The news came from an industry insider who told Sports Chosun on the 26th that Shin Ye Eun will play the starring role.

High School Queen is based on a popular Naver webtoon. It follows Kim Cheong Ha, the greatest swordswoman and queen of Joseon, who is reincarnated as Park Da Jin, a modern-day high school girl. She uses Joseon martial arts to take down bullies, mixing action with a fresh story.

Studio Dragon announced plans to develop the webtoon into a full-length drama. They said:

“We are planning and developing the webtoon High School Queen into a full-length drama. While maintaining the webtoon’s refreshing ‘cider action,’ we also plan to strengthen the romance elements that span the past Joseon era and the present day. Furthermore, Studio Dragon, in collaboration with CJ ENM, is considering expanding the IP into other content areas such as films and animation inspired by the webtoon High School Queen.”

Shin Ye Eun will play Cheong Ha, the Joseon queen and warrior, now living as a high school student Park Da Jin. Expect exciting twists and action-packed scenes.

She has shown range from school dramas to action roles and won Best New Actress at the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards. Fans and industry pros have high hopes for her lead role in this new drama.
