“Single’s Inferno 5” Cast Responds to Speculation About Connections to Presidential Family

Lee Sung Hun is facing rumors about his family ties to ex-South Korean President Lee Myung Bak.
The controversy began after fans noticed Lee Sung Hun’s looks and voice sounded similar to the former president. The rumors claimed he was Lee Myung Bak’s nephew.
Soon after, the production team from Single’s Inferno 5 addressed the speculation during a February 13 interview in Seoul. Producer Kim Jung Hyun said they asked Lee Sung Hun directly and he firmly denied it.
“We checked with him personally, and he said it is absolutely not true.
There were comments saying they resemble each other in appearance and voice, so we were curious and asked him, but he said, ‘Not at all.’ He also said they are not even distant relatives.”

Lee Sung Hun has previously turned heads for his impressive background. A UC Berkeley graduate, he worked as a Google engineer before moving on to be a quantitative trader in New York.
The production team stressed casting is based on charm and presence—not connections or resumes.
With Lee’s denial, the rumors linking him to Lee Myung Bak are put to rest.
