Source Music Files Documentation to Assert Ownership of NJZ’s Hanni, Hyein, and Minji

Min Hee Jin is facing new drama in her lawsuit with Source Music over NJZ’s casting credits.

Source Music dropped new trainee contract videos at Seoul Western District Court during their ₩500 million KRW ($345,000 USD) lawsuit against Min. These clips challenge Min’s claim that she personally cast NJZ members.

In one clip, Haerin’s mom says, “It’s amazing that the SOURCE MUSIC casting manager even came out to Anyang.” Danielle’s mom says her daughter was already a trainee at another agency before moving to Source. She asks, “If debut isn’t confirmed, please let us choose whether to stay at Source Music or transfer.”

Source Music insists this proves they, not Min, discovered and developed NJZ.

They stressed especially about Hyein, Hanni, and Minji. Min wasn’t involved in their casting at all. Haerin and Danielle joined after Min was already part of the company.

“In the case of member Hyein, the CEO at Source Music (then So Seong Jin) personally stepped in to persuade her parents, and Min Hee Jin had never even served as a judge in the audition that selected member Hanni. Furthermore, member Minji had been selected by Source Music even before Min joined the company.”

Source also leaked internal messages from 2021 where Min asked that NJZ be transferred to her own label. This contradicts her claim that HYBE blocked her from debuting them as HYBE’s first girl group.

The feud shows no signs of cooling down. Source Music stands firm that NJZ was their project, not Min’s.
