The Black Label’s 2025 Takeover: ALLDAY PROJECT, ‘K-Pop Demon Hunters’ Soundtrack, and More

The Black Label is making waves across the K-pop scene in 2025, thanks to a string of major wins both in Korea and internationally. The label, led by producer Teddy, started the year strong with the rise of their girl groups and then surged even more with the debut of the bold co-ed group ALLDAY PROJECT in late June.
ALLDAY PROJECT grabbed instant attention with their unique lineup of five members—Annie, Youngseo, Bailey, Woochan, and Tarzan. Annie, notably, is the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group chairwoman Lee Myung Hee, while Youngseo appeared on the survival show ‘R U NEXT?’. Bailey is a respected dancer, Woochan gained fame on ‘Show Me the Money 6’, and Tarzan transitioned from modeling to idol life. Just four days after their debut on June 23, their first single, “FAMOUS,” hit No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100 chart. Then, on July 3, they clinched first place on Mnet’s “M Countdown,” a huge achievement for a rookie group barely 10 days old.
Right on the heels of that, The Black Label dropped the OST for Netflix’s animated series ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ on June 28. The soundtrack was cooked up by Teddy and other in-house producers Kush, 24, Vince, ido, and Danny Chung. It featured fictional groups Huntrix and Saja Boys, who quickly caught fire with tracks like “Golden,” “How It’s Done,” “Soda Pop,” and “Your Idol.” The choreography for Saja Boys was crafted by Leejung, a top-tier dancer also under The Black Label’s wing.
The numbers say it all—the OST debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart as of July 12. “Golden” broke into the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 23, while “Your Idol” hit No. 31, “How It’s Done” came in at No. 42, and “Soda Pop” placed at No. 49. On Spotify, “Your Idol” even topped the U.S. Daily Top Songs chart, showing how much international listeners are digging the label’s sound.
This success builds on what The Black Label started earlier this year. In April, MEOVV, the girl group that debuted in September 2024, took home their very first win on Mnet’s “M Countdown” with their Brazilian funk-inspired track “HANDS UP,” which also topped Melon’s Hot 100 chart. Meanwhile, in March, IZNA—the girl group formed through Mnet’s survival show ‘I-LAND 2: N/a’—earned their first trophy on SBS M’s “The Show” with “SIGN,” a song fully produced by Teddy.
Industry insiders say this run of success is linked to a deliberate shift in the label’s approach. Unlike MEOVV’s early strategy, which kept things mysterious with limited content, The Black Label is now going all in on fan engagement and public recognition. ALLDAY PROJECT was designed with star power and clear talent from the start, and the label’s tougher focus on content-driven promotion seems to be paying off. Teddy’s consistent hip-hop and R&B vibe also seems to connect well with both Korean and global audiences.
“After BLACKPINK’s global breakthrough, the international market started recognizing Teddy’s sound as a defining image of K-pop. The OST for ‘K-pop Demon Hunters’ solidifies that narrative.”

On the solo front, Jeon Somi made a comeback with her single “EXTRA” after a year’s break, keeping The Black Label’s momentum rolling. BLACKPINK also jumped back in with their new single “JUMP” released on July 11, featuring production credits to Teddy and 24.
All signs point to The Black Label not just staying relevant but actually growing its influence in 2025. With hits coming one after another, they look set to shape what K-pop sounds like for the rest of the year and beyond.
