Top Actor Opens Up About His Experience Making an Idol Debut

Gang Dong Won is stepping up as an idol in the new comedy film Wild Sing. The film had its production briefing on May 7 at Lotte Cinema, Konkuk University, Seoul. Alongside Gang Dong Won, Um Tae Goo, Park Ji Hyun, Oh Jung Se, and director Son Jae Gon attended the event.
Wild Sing follows Triangle, a mixed dance group that once ruled the music scene but broke up suddenly. Twenty years later, they aim for a comeback with a risky new challenge.
The film is a collaboration between About Film, the team behind the 2019 hit Extreme Job (16.26 million views), and director Son Jae Gon, known for his comedy style in films like Secret Zoo.
Gang Dong Won, Um Tae Goo, and Park Ji Hyun play the mixed dance group Triangle. Fans are excited to see Gang Dong Won return to dance after his Boombastic choreography in A Violent Prosecutor 10 years ago.

Gang Dong Won said this about the role:
“While preparing for this project, I realized something. Watching idols, I always thought ‘it must always be so tough.’ But during this shoot, I came to respect them.”
About choosing comedy, he added:
“Comedy has always been my favorite. The script was really fun. I liked that it was a tightly packed comedy with a very satisfying ending. It wasn’t open-ended, which I really liked. The process of moving toward the ending and the stories of the four characters were so entertaining. That’s why I wanted to do it,”
The film looks set to bring laughs and nostalgia as Triangle fights for a second chance.
