V of BTS Triggers Diverse Responses With Age Breakdown of Magazine Cover Buyers

BTS’s V is facing controversy over surprising fan demographics for his upcoming Vogue Japan cover.
The February 2026 issue featuring V is already available for pre-order. The sales data revealed that the majority of buyers are actually in their 40s and 50s — not teens or young adults as many assumed.
According to the stats:
- For one cover, 36.5% of buyers are in their 50s, and 27% in their 40s.
- Another cover shows 34.7% buyers in their 50s, followed by 28% in their 40s.
- Women outnumber men significantly in both cases.
Vogue Japan’s Vogue Japan February 2026 cover featuring V has fans shocked:

Fans are talking, noting BTS’s fanbase seems to have almost no teenagers left:
“The 10-20 age group is completely wiped out.”
“There are really too many ajumeonis.”
“On the same level as Lim Young Woong.”
“But seriously, I see posts like this a lot. Do BTS fans also have some kind of age obsession or what?”
“You can get fake IDs and buy everything with them, and even for concerts the ticket resellers buy everything using their own IDs. I can’t believe stuff like that.”

The shift in V’s fanbase age demographics is stirring debate. Is BTS losing younger fans? Or are older fans simply stepping up their game? The data says older fans dominate V’s Vogue Japan pre-orders — and the internet is watching closely.
