Well-Known Actor Shifts To Hands-On Work Due To Limited Acting Opportunities

Lim Joo Hwan is facing controversy after reports surfaced that the actor was working at a Coupang logistics center during his acting breaks.

The controversy began when multiple online posts claimed Lim was seen working at various logistics centers in Incheon. Some witnesses even got his autograph on site.

Lim’s agency, Basecamp Company, responded to the rumors by confirming the actor did work there occasionally but clarified he is not currently employed at the logistics center.

“Lim had previously worked at a Coupang logistics center. He worked there several times during breaks between acting projects in the past. However, since he is currently preparing for his next role, the actor is no longer working at the logistics center.” – Basecamp Company

Lim Joo Hwan, known from dramas like Uncontrollably Fond and The Bride of Habaek, has not appeared in any major dramas or movies since 2022. His last project was the play Pride, which ended in June 2023.

His hiatus comes amid a bigger issue in the Korean entertainment industry, where drama productions dropped 25% and movie releases fell 20% compared to 2022 due to soaring costs and low box office returns.

Fans have praised Lim for his mindset, but the reports ignited debates about pay gaps in the industry—while some top actors earn huge salaries, others struggle for work.
