Yang Hyun Suk’s Unconfirmed Announcement on BLACKPINK’s 2025 Comeback Sparks Backlash

BLACKPINK fans are furious after YG Entertainment revealed the group’s comeback will be a mini-album, not the full album many expected.
It’s been three years since BLACKPINK’s last album. The group has been on a world tour this summer, but no official album announcement was made—only the single “Jump” was released so far.
On August 17, YG dropped a company update video. The focus was on BABYMONSTER and TREASURE, but near the end, Yang Hyun Suk gave an update on BLACKPINK’s album.
He said the album isn’t finished yet. BLACKPINK is busy finishing it with producers while on tour. He added he hopes the mini-album will be “out by November, at the latest.”
Fans quickly took to Twitter to voice their disappointment and anger.
“3 yrs, ONLY mini album, still pushing ON November????
Fck u, do ur job better or just rotten in jail”

“They all should be ashamed both the pinks and YG”
— Weco (@theweco_)
“I take back what I said before, Blackpink going on hiatus for nearly 3 whole years only to be possibly coming back with a mini album is just crazy, so unfair to the fans tbh”

No official comeback date has been set yet. Fans remain on edge as the group’s first major release since 2022 remains unfinished months into their comeback year.
