ADOR Unveils Previously Unseen Images of NewJeans on Third Debut Anniversary
NewJeans hit a major milestone on July 22, marking three years since their debut. Since their arrival in the K-pop world on July 22, 2022, the group quickly burst onto the scene, capturing attention both in South Korea and internationally with popular tracks like "Attention," "Hype Boy," "Ditto," "ETA," "Super Shy," and "OMG." Their fresh sound and unique style have earned them a huge fanbase worldwide.
To celebrate this special day, their agency ADOR declared July 22 as ‘NewJeans Day’ and hosted live streams featuring various NewJeans content on their official YouTube channel. A few days before the anniversary, ADOR also shared never-before-seen photos of the girls on their social media X account, giving fans a glimpse behind the scenes and adding to the excitement.
However, fans’ joy has been tempered by the ongoing legal battle between NewJeans and ADOR. Back in November last year, the members announced they had ended their exclusive contracts with ADOR, which operates under HYBE, and planned to pursue activities independently. This sudden move led ADOR to take legal action.
In January, ADOR filed an injunction to validate the contracts, aiming to keep control over the group’s management and to block NewJeans from signing advertising deals or engaging in solo activities without their consent. The court sided with ADOR, granting the injunction, which means NewJeans cannot officially act independently until a final decision is reached.
Because of this ruling, group activities have been on pause since their last event, FLEXCON in Hong Kong. Despite celebrating three years since their debut, the members have not been able to hold any special anniversary events or come back with new promotions or releases.
The legal dispute is clearly casting a shadow over what should be a celebratory moment in NewJeans’ career. Fans are left waiting and hoping for a resolution that will let the group get back to focusing on their music and connecting with their supporters.
