HYBE Group Harshly Criticized as “Worst Performance” at 2025 MAMA Awards

TXT is facing backlash after their performances at the 2025 MAMA Awards.
The controversy began with Yeonjun’s solo stage for “Coma” and “Talk to You” on November 28. Fans shared clips praising his effort.

But the next night, things took a turn. TXT performed as a full group with “Upside Down Kiss” and “Beautiful Strangers.”
Korean netizens weren’t impressed. A viral post on Pann slammed the group’s stage presence, calling it “dead last” for the night.
TXT’s stage is seriously bad. Their MAMA performance today was dead last….
…The gap between them and the other idols who performed today was huge. With skills like that, I honestly don’t think they could ever handle choreography from groups like BTS, SEVENTEEN, ENHYPEN, or RIIZE. I can’t even imagine.

Fans agreed, some even admitting they’re supporters but found this performance disappointing.

“I’m a TXT fan, but at this point, their bad performances just make me laugh. You’d think they’d be decent by now, but somehow this mix keeps happening, lol. When I look at Yeonjun, I can’t even tell if he’s actually good or not… sometimes he does well, sometimes he’s unbelievably bad.”
“Kang Taehyun at the club, Huening on late-night dates, Soobin and Hong Seunghan… TXT failed a long time ago.”
“JYP fans, please stop dragging idols from other companies.”
“Stray Kids and ENHYPEN won Daesangs, while that person didn’t get anything and even ruined their solo stage. Please reflect. Because of your solo, more fans left. You could’ve at least performed well. Was that really so difficult?”
“Felix completely dominated this year’s MAMA. He was insanely charismatic and cool. Those are the kinds of people who should be getting solo stages.”
The 2025 MAMA Awards have been controversial overall — G-Dragon’s live vocals caused a fuss, and Stray Kids’ Daesang win upset many. TXT’s performance added fuel to the fire.
