What If You Divorced Your Actor Husband and Later Discovered You Were Cast in the Same K-Drama?

Kim Bo Yeon talks about acting with ex-husband Jeon No Min after 10 years of no contact!
The two starred together in the K-Drama Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) despite their divorce back in 2012. The series is a heavy-hitting makjang drama by Im Sung Han focusing on love, marriage, and divorce for women in their 30s to 50s.
Jeon No Min plays Park Hae Ryoon, and Kim Bo Yeon is Kim Dong Mi. Offscreen, they were married in 2004 but divorced in 2012. This drama marked their first encounter in about a decade.
Kim Bo Yeon shared on Radio Star how awkward it was seeing her ex after so long.
“Since we were meeting again after we had divorced, it felt a bit strange. We weren’t strangers, and we didn’t have a senior-junior relationship either. However, I felt like if I didn’t do anything, the production staff would feel awkward around us, so I went up to him and asked how he had been doing and asked about his daughter.”

Jeon No Min’s daughter is from his first marriage, not with Kim Bo Yeon.
Kim also admitted it was tough to act in scenes with him. In season 2, her character had to praise him and another actress as a couple, which was difficult for her.
“It’s been 10 years and sometimes a married couple become strangers to each other. It’s okay not to make it too complicated.”
— Kim Gu Ra (commenting on the situation)
The ex-couple even tried running a makgeolli business in 2008, but poor sales partly led to their split.

Fans are watching closely as Kim Bo Yeon and Jeon No Min navigate acting with their complicated past in the spotlight.
