BTS’s Suga Surprises Fans With New Family Member Announcement During Live Broadcast
BTS’s Suga shocked fans after dropping a surprise guest on his latest Weverse live—his huge black cat, Tang!
No hints beforehand, Suga just showed up cuddling the big kitty live. Fans were floored.
Tang is a three-year-old male cat weighing 6.4 kg. Suga said Tang’s dad was a street cat. He adopted Tang from a friend on a whim, not a long-planned thing.
Suga explained the name too. He hoped to get two cats named Seol and Tang, which means “sugar” together. Only Tang came home, but the name stuck.

Tang is calm, affectionate, and gentle. Suga says he loves kneading on his stomach or under his arm and doesn’t hate belly rubs—unusual for cats.
Suga also revealed Jimin is a big fan of Tang. The cat even shows his belly for Jimin, despite Jimin’s cat allergy that makes him struggle after hanging out with Tang.
