Legal Experts Say Ador Faces Under 5% Chance of Winning Entire Lawsuit

NewJeans’ Danielle, her family, and former CEO Min Hee Jin are facing major legal trouble with ADOR’s massive damages lawsuit — but experts say the final payout will be way lower than ADOR hopes.

The agency claims ₩43.1 billion in damages. Yet, experts say the chances of the court accepting that full amount is less than 5%. It’s expected the court will cut the damages down to somewhere between ₩1 billion and ₩5 billion.

Why? Korean courts limit damages in exclusive contract cases. They usually reject claims seen as excessive. Court decisions focus on actual losses — not future projected profits, which helps slashes big claims.

Another key point: artist contribution. Courts don’t see the agency as the only reason for NewJeans’ success. They factor in Danielle’s talent and popularity. If that’s proven, ADOR’s claim will get reduced.

Also, NewJeans has already made tons of money worldwide. Courts could say ADOR recovered most of its training and marketing costs, cutting damages even more.

ADOR is also trying to pin blame on Min Hee Jin and Danielle’s family alongside Danielle. But without clear proof of direct involvement or illegal acts, this push might fail, narrowing the damage scope drastically.

Experts see this case as a tough hill for ADOR to claim huge damages here.
