BLACKPINK’s Total Song Count Over 10 Years Draws Criticism Ahead of New Album

BLACKPINK is facing controversy over their music output after 10 years.

The total number of songs released by the group has sparked ridicule among fans and netizens.

As of January 2026, including the upcoming mini-album DEADLINE, BLACKPINK has officially released only 33 group tracks through albums and digital singles.

The DEADLINE EP, dropping soon, will feature five songs, including “JUMP,” which came out last year.

The controversy began after fans noticed that in a decade, BLACKPINK’s total group discography under YG Entertainment is less than 40 songs. This includes songs from albums and digital releases.

Many blame YG for the low output, pointing out that solo projects by the members already exceed the total group releases.

Back in 2023, BLACKPINK had only 41 songs released if counting solo work and collaborations. But just counting group and official collaborations, it was 29 tracks. Now it’s at 33, and will be 37 after DEADLINE.

Reddit and social media exploded with reactions, many expressing disbelief over the slow pace.

“After the release of the Deadline mini album BLACKPINK’s discography will go from 33 to 37 songs over the 10 years of their career ….”

“ 10 years, 37 songs, thats blackpink for ya”
— Twitter user @3amroses

“Blackpink is not even reaching 40 songs in 10 years of their career”
— Twitter user @jnklove116

“the way blackpink discography will go from 33 to 37 songs after 10 years omg ”
— Twitter user @casewox

“i would be embarrassed of having a 10 yrs long career and less than 40 songs you would NOT see my name linked to that group anymore”
— Twitter user @pinkchella

The criticism comes as fans eagerly await DEADLINE, but remain frustrated with how little official group music has actually come out over BLACKPINK’s decade in the industry.
