Actress Foregoes Treatment for K-Drama Filming Following Car Accident, Faces Daily Pain

Lee Chung Ah reveals she suffered a hip injury from a car accident last August during drama filming.

The actress opened up on Yoo Yeon Seok’s YouTube channel on January 31, 2026 (KST), explaining how the injury affected her work on the new ENA K-Drama Honor: Women’s Court.

She said she watched “at least 100 rehabilitation videos for hips” while dealing with the pain. The filming started right after the accident, so she missed the best time to get treatment.

“Last August, when we started shooting the drama, I was in a car accident and injured my hip.”

The pain spread from her waist up to her neck. She pushed through difficult action scenes and even wore heels despite the discomfort. Sleep troubles made recovery harder.

“I was in pain, but filming started immediately, so I missed the right timing for treatment. The pain traveled from my waist up to my neck, and with all the action scenes and wearing heels, plus not being able to sleep, I should have healed—but I didn’t.”

She realized the hip is an incredibly important joint after noticing pain when twisting her body, even though walking felt okay.

“I kept thinking, ‘Why am I still in pain?’ It was fine when I walked, but it hurt when I twisted. I wondered what was wrong with my hip, and realized it’s such an important joint in our bodies.”

Her condition got better once she cut down on wearing heels.

She promised to rest for about four days after filming ends.

“Once the shoot is over, I’ll rest for about four days and do absolutely nothing.”
