BTS Members Accused of Promoting Eating Disorders

BTS members Jimin and Jungkook are facing backlash after a clip of them giving dieting advice went viral on X (formerly Twitter).

The controversy began when a clip from a past Japanese interview resurfaced. The duo was promoting their travel show, Are You Sure 2, when they were asked about their “recent success.” Jimin replied, “Our diet was a success.” When pressed for details, he said hesitantly, “Not eating.” Jungkook added, “Don’t eat and run well.”

Fans quickly reacted to the clip on X, accusing the members of promoting unhealthy eating habits and toxic diet culture.

“Imagine if a female idol said this…she’d be dragged to deepest pits of hell for promoting ed and what not.” — @mandu__cheeks

“Yea this is genuinely sick, they should get some help and shut the hell up about it, a lot of their fans are so young they shouldn’t be hearing this anorexic bullshit from their idol bruh.” — @st4rdustalex

Other netizens criticized BTS for not living up to their reputation as boundary-breakers in K-pop.

“So much bull was spread about them breaking boundaries in the kpop industry when they’re the same as every other group, just got lucky.” — @MEGUMAINO

This backlash comes amid recent controversy over BTS member RM’s comments about V’s weight, which also sparked intense reactions online.
