19-Year-Old K-Pop Star Achieves Nearly 8000% Return on Stocks Since Age 14
Han Yujin shocked everyone with his insane stock investment success at just 19 years old.
The controversy began on the JTBC variety show Knowing Bros aired on the 30th. Han Yujin, alongside AND2BLE’s Zhang Hao, Christina Confalonieri, and Choi Yena, appeared on the show, but it was Han Yujin’s stock market bragging rights that stole the spotlight.
Han Yujin revealed his stock journey started at 14 when his dad gave him ₩1 million KRW (about $663 USD) to invest however he wanted.
“My dad told me to learn about the economy, gave me ₩1.00 million KRW (about $663 USD) to try investing in stocks when I was 14, and told me to do whatever I wanted, so I started studying” — Han Yujin
Fast forward five years and Han Yujin claims his profits have skyrocketed by 8,000%, turning that ₩1 million into ₩80 million KRW (about $53,100 USD).
“Since then, I kept researching and learning, and now my profits have increased by 8,000%. It went from 1 million won to ₩80.0 million KRW (about $53,100 USD),” he added.
Han Yujin sticks strictly to the domestic Korean stock market. When asked about his picks, he explained his changing strategy.
“I only invest in the domestic stock market,” he said.
“Right now, it’s semiconductors, but back then I invested in the marine logistics industry,” Han Yujin said, winning respect from the cast.
His busy idol schedule means he can’t trade as often, but his account keeps hitting limits.
“I don’t have much time now to manage it diligently,” Han Yujin said, but added, “My stock account is still hitting upper limits and staying in the red.”
Besides stocks, Han Yujin surprised everyone with his unique “pet stones” hobby. He’s been taking care of stones gifted by his best friend since elementary school.
“My best friend since elementary school gave me stones for my birthday, so I started raising stones then,”
