K-Pop Icon Comes Out as Gay and Shares About His Relationship

Taichi opens up about his sexuality and relationship in new YouTube Q&A

The former JYP Entertainment trainee and Boys II Planet contestant Taichi dropped a big reveal in his latest YouTube video.

He confirmed he is gay, not bisexual. Taichi said even his parents knew before he could fully understand himself.

Taichi was on the January 2026 season 4 of HisMan, a show featuring single gay men looking for love. Despite not ending up in any final couple on the show, fans were curious about his romantic life.

In the Q&A video posted on his new channel, Taichi answered a fan question about his dating status straightforwardly.

“I have a boyfriend,” Taichi said, smiling. He described his boyfriend as sweet and mentioned he’d film a video together if given the chance.

Taichi previously competed on Nizi Project Season 2 under JYP but didn’t make it to debut. He later tried his luck on Boys II Planet but finished 95th overall.
