THE BOYZ face provisional seizure of Younghoon and Q’s properties in ₩8.80 billion lawsuit
THE BOYZ members Younghoon and Q have had properties frozen after One Hundred Label won a provisional seizure request at the Seoul Eastern District Court, according to reports on July 24.
The court approved One Hundred Label’s application to freeze an apartment owned by Younghoon in Seongdong District, Seoul. The agency’s claim tied to that seizure is reported to be roughly ₩500 million KRW (about $339,000 USD).
The court also granted a separate provisional seizure for property belonging to Q, the agency’s legal representative confirmed.
One Hundred Label’s legal representative said the asset freezes are the opening move in a larger legal fight.
One Hundred Label’s legal representative explained:
“It is true that Younghoon and Q’s properties have been provisionally seized. This provisional seizure is the starting point of our ₩8.80 billion KRW (about $5.97 million USD) main lawsuit against THE BOYZ members.”
The attorney added that the agency is locating other real estate owned by group members and will submit additional provisional seizure requests in phases. The legal rep also said the company will contest any objections raised by the members.
One Hundred Label’s legal representative said:
“We will actively respond to objections and seek victory in the main lawsuit to normalize the company’s management.”
The agency emphasized it does not plan to close operations until it recovers the full sum it claims. It described the provisional seizure as a measure to preserve assets while pursuing its financial claims.
One Hundred Label contends the signing bonuses paid to members were advance payments tied to the full term of exclusive contracts. The agency argues that because the contracts allegedly did not run their agreed term, the unpaid portion should be returned as unjust enrichment.
On July 13, the legal team for the nine THE BOYZ members filed an objection to the provisional seizure order.
Earlier this year all members except New sought an injunction to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts, claiming One Hundred Label failed to pay settlement earnings. That injunction request was granted by the court.
At the time of the injunction ruling, One Hundred Label said the decision was not final and pledged to pursue the matter through the main lawsuit.
