BTS Jungkook’s Stalker Avoids Jail Despite Repeatedly Visiting His Home

BTS’s Jungkook is facing backlash after a Brazilian woman who stalked him received a suspended sentence from a South Korean court.

The controversy began when the woman was sentenced by Presiding Judge Park Ji Won of the Seoul Western District Court to one year in prison, suspended for two years. She was charged with violating South Korea’s anti-stalking law and trespassing.

The woman repeatedly visited Jungkook’s residence 22 times in December last year. She rang his doorbell, loitered near his home, and left items outside. An emergency restraining order was issued, banning her from coming within 100 meters of Jungkook or his property. Despite this, she violated the order.

In January, she returned again, leaving photographs and printed materials outside Jungkook’s door. Investigators revealed she waited near a side entrance, slipped inside after a food delivery worker entered and exited.

Fans quickly reacted with anger over the suspended sentence, feeling justice was not served.

The judge explained the sentence by noting her motivation was to “express feelings” rather than to “intend harm.” The court also considered the roughly three months she had already spent in detention.

The court added that the woman is expected to be deported once the ruling is finalized, which it believes will reduce the risk of reoffending.
