BTS’s RM Faces Controversy Over Alleged Fan Hookup Claims

BTS’s RM is facing backlash after rumors about a fan encounter went viral online.

The controversy began when a fan shared a video from BTS’s Stanford, Connecticut concert on May 16, 17, and 19 during their Arirang world tour. The fan held up a sign saying, “Namjoon, I’m a pro rider,” referencing RM’s song “Nuts.” RM’s reaction to the sign quickly caught attention and the clip went viral.

Soon after, a post on X claimed RM had sex with the fan backstage and after the concert. The post, which gained over 10 million views, said the fan “signed an NDA” with RM. This claim was based on the fan’s joking responses to questions, but many fans quickly ridiculed the “proof” and defended RM.

Fans began reacting online, warning about the risks of NDA jokes going too far, especially on platforms like TikTok where accountability is low. Some expressed concern that such rumors could discourage idols from interacting with fans holding signs.

“personally never liked it but ya maybe lets quickly wrap up the nda jokes because they have a potential to get messy and weird esp on platforms like tiktok where theres very less accountability and more gp, new or casual fans joining in to whom this joke might not translate well”

“y’all are gonna make them never interact with signs like these again ”

As the situation unfolded, fans continued to defend RM and called for caution around spreading unverified claims. The fan’s original interaction remains a lighthearted moment from the tour, while the NDA rumors have been widely dismissed.
