FIFA Accused Of Shading BTS After World Cup Halftime Performance
BTS is facing backlash after FIFA was accused of “shading” the group on social media following their 2026 World Cup halftime show performance.
On July 19, BTS performed at the 2026 FIFA World Cup halftime show. FIFA posted about the final on Instagram, sharing highlights from all the performers.
The controversy began when fans noticed that while other artists received individual Instagram reels dedicated to their performances, BTS was only featured in a group highlight reel. FIFA did not post a separate reel for BTS, sparking anger among fans.
Soon after, fans quickly reacted online, calling out FIFA for the unequal treatment. Many felt FIFA was being shady by not giving BTS the same individual coverage as the other acts.
