Kim Soo Hyun’s Team Issues Warning of Additional Measures in Kim Sae Ron Scandal

Kim Soo Hyun is taking legal action in his controversy with the late Kim Sae Ron.

The actor’s lawyer, Ko Sang Rok, spoke on YTN Radio’s Wise Radio Life on the 1st. He warned that Kim Soo Hyun’s side will seek civil damages on top of criminal punishment against Kim Se Ui of the Garosero Institute.

“While criminal punishment is important, it is equally crucial to receive strict legal judgment through claims for civil damages,” Ko said.

The lawyer stressed the need to enforce civil liability to prevent repeated cybercrimes.

“To prevent such cybercrimes from recurring, civil liability must also be clearly enforced,” he said.
“There must be strong responsibility to the extent of destroying the economic foundation to ensure that the same acts cannot be repeated even after release.”

Ko explained Kim Se Ui may face a huge damages claim, possibly beyond his ability to pay.

“If a large amount of damages is recognized, it will be difficult for Mr. Kim to bear it solely with his personal assets,” said Ko.
“If he cannot fully repay the compensation, he may face long-term indebtedness.”

The lawyer made it clear that legal responsibility cannot be avoided through bankruptcy or rehabilitation.

“Damages arising from malicious unlawful acts have a different nature from general debts,” Ko stated.
“Even if bankruptcy or rehabilitation proceedings are conducted, they will not be discharged or reduced.”

Kim Se Ui is under investigation for repeatedly spreading falsehoods that could damage Kim Soo Hyun’s reputation via broadcasts linked to the late Kim Sae Ron.

Authorities have requested and received an arrest warrant for Kim Se Ui due to the seriousness of the case.

Kim Se Ui’s detention review hearing is set for the 2nd at Seoul Central District Court.

Meanwhile, Kim Soo Hyun’s side is pushing for a strong civil lawsuit with a large damages claim. They are holding firm.
