LE SSERAFIM Faces Backlash for Featuring Singer Accused of Sexualizing School Girls

LE SSERAFIM is facing backlash after announcing a remix of their latest title track, “BOOMPALA,” featuring Indian singer Guru Randhawa.
The controversy began when fans learned about the collaboration with Guru Randhawa, a major artist in India who has previously faced criticism. His music video for the song “Azul” was accused of hyper-sexualizing schoolgirls and showing an inappropriate relationship between a photographer and a student character.
Soon after the remix announcement, fans quickly reacted on X (formerly Twitter), questioning why HYBE and Source Music would partner with an artist linked to such controversy.
“Isnt this the guy who sexualised and portrayed a school girl character as a love interest in his MV? What is hybe doing?” — Kan
Others pointed out that Guru Randhawa had restricted comments on his social media instead of addressing the backlash publicly.
“the fact that he restricts comments instead of addressing the issue and apologise is so disgusting omg” — avril
Fans also criticized HYBE for their decision, with some accusing the company of poor judgment.
“It’s on brand for HYBE since they love to scout and debut minors” — JULIA
The “BOOMPALA” remix featuring Guru Randhawa has now been released, but debate over the collaboration continues to divide fans online. Neither HYBE nor Source Music has responded to the criticism so far.
