LG Twins Player Lee Joo Heon Discusses Middle School Friendship with BOYNEXTDOOR’s Jaehyun
Fans were delighted to discover a fun connection between BOYNEXTDOOR’s Jaehyun and LG Twins baseball player Lee Joo Heon, as it turns out they were close friends during their school days!
In a recent behind-the-scenes interview on the official LG Twins YouTube channel, Lee Joo Heon opened up about his long-standing friendship with Jaehyun. He fondly recalled,
“We were good friends all throughout middle school and high school. We were in the same class in our second year of middle school. I think [Jaehyun] was the school president or vice president in our second year of middle school, and then the school president in high school too. During school festivals, he always went up front and danced.”
When the interviewer mentioned that Jaehyun had recently brought him up during a broadcast, Lee Joo Heon appeared genuinely surprised, exclaiming,
“Really? I had no idea,”
and flashing a grateful smile.
Discussing their current connection, Lee Joo Heon explained the challenges of staying in touch after being separated in high school.
“There was no way to stay in touch back then. Around the end of our second year in high school, Jaehyun kind of disappeared. It was hard to see him even in school. I think that was when he started being an idol trainee. From then on, there was no way to keep in touch with him. I actually only found out that Jaehyun debuted when I was in the military. Hearing that, I was like, ‘Jaehyun from Sungnam Middle School and High School?’. It turned out, it was.”
In a heartwarming gesture, Lee Joo Heon extended an invitation for Jaehyun to reconnect, saying,
“Come and throw the first pitch for us sometime. It’ll be good to see you again after all this time.”
This nostalgia-filled look back at their school days has fans reminiscing and excited about a potential reunion on the baseball field!
