Famous Actor Responds to Claims of Unpaid Bills Reported by Dispatch

Lee Jang Woo is facing controversy over unpaid bills at his sundae soup restaurant.

Dispatch reported that about ₩40 million KRW (~$26,800 USD) in ingredient payments were left unpaid. The meat supplier said payment delays grew worse over time, with some months seeing no payment at all.

An acquaintance claimed Lee Jang Woo isn’t the restaurant operator; a friend named B is the CEO instead.

An official from the restaurant’s F&B company said,

“Company A signed the contract with the meat distribution company, and we paid Company A, but A failed to pay.”

Lee Jang Woo’s side points to Company A as responsible, saying they paid Company A, but Company A didn’t forward the payment to the supplier.

The controversy began because Lee Jang Woo promoted the restaurant on TV as if it were his own business. This brings moral responsibility despite the legal argument.

His agency stated,

“We are not the ones who failed to pay, but we are considering paying on their behalf to resolve the situation.”

Even if cleared legally, questions remain about Lee Jang Woo portraying the restaurant as solely his when he only helped in its early stages.

As the situation develops, Lee Jang Woo’s side is preparing a fuller statement to be released soon.
