NewJeans’ Hanni Connects with Fans Through Surprise Instagram Live
NewJeans‘ Hanni recently treated fans to a surprise Instagram Live session.
During the broadcast on May 5, the singer shared that she decided to go live after reading letters from fans, known as Bunnies, and seeing requests for her to play the guitar again.

Hanni expressed her gratitude to her supporters and performed acoustic covers, including a rendition of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Opposite.”
Clips from the session quickly made their way across social media platforms.
Fans showed their support online, though some also voiced concerns about the live stream happening while NewJeans are legally unable to pursue independent activities.
“Is she allowed to stream live like this?”
“I loved their music… It’s so unfortunate.”
“Hanni still sings so well.”
“I wish the legal battle ends and they can be active again.”

This live session took place amid a significant legal dispute involving the group.
In November 2024, NewJeans announced they were leaving their agency ADOR due to alleged mistreatment and a breakdown of trust, rebranding themselves as NJZ for independent activities.
However, a South Korean court granted ADOR’s request for an injunction in March 2025, ordering the group to stop all independent activities and confirming ADOR as their exclusive management.
NewJeans appealed the decision, but the court upheld the initial ruling.
