The controversy began when a fan asked Chaeyoung on Bubble if she could draw a tattoo design during the Berlin soundcheck.

“Unni, can you draw me a tattoo at the Berlin soundcheck?”

Soon after, Chaeyoung responded firmly, explaining why she won’t be taking tattoo design requests anymore.

“I’m sorry, but I won’t be doing it anymore! Honestly, there were many fans who asked me to draw tattoos, but I am cautious about it because it’s something you can’t erase and stays permanently on your body. I can’t spend a lot of time on it and have to draw it quickly.
I can’t draw it for every single person that asks for one, and I am in the middle of performing, so I can’t just focus on drawing, so I won’t be drawing designs anymore! I hope you all understand!”

Fans quickly reacted online, supporting Chaeyoung for setting clear boundaries as an artist.

“Completely understandable. I’m glad she set boundaries”

“Who is even asking her to draw stuff in the middle of a fucking concert like pls give these girls a break man”
— ellie (@elliexmina)

“My kind but not soft girlie anyway who on earth is asking chae to draw in the middle of a concert bruh”

Other fans clarified Chaeyoung’s intentions, emphasizing her seriousness about tattoos.

“Actually, she just thinks getting a tattoo is a very serious matter. She doesn’t want to casually make lifelong decisions for others, nor does she find it annoying or bothersome. Please stop misinterpreting what she means.”

“Yall making her do too much and stressing her out. She is so thoughtful my baby said it’s a big deal and I want to be intentional about it but I can’t coz I am busy af!!! Omg Chae don’t say sorry.. this is not your job in the first place..”
