Won Bin’s Agency Addresses Kim Sae Ron Controversy: Clarifies He Only Attended Funeral to Pay Respects

Won Bin‘s agency has issued a statement addressing his involvement in the ongoing controversy surrounding the late actress Kim Sae Ron. On May 9, the agency clarified that the actor only paid his respects during her funeral and has no further connection to the matter.

The clarification comes after a press conference held on May 7 by Kim Se Eui, the head of the Garosero Research Institute, alongside attorney Boo Ji Seok representing Kim Sae Ron’s family. At the event, they disclosed information regarding a whistleblower referred to as ‘Mr. A,’ who allegedly recorded voice files with the late actress’s consent that implicated actor Kim Soo Hyun in various alleged crimes.

During the press conference, it was revealed that Mr. A claimed to have been attacked on May 1 by two unidentified men, resulting in serious injuries. Moreover, Mr. A’s wife made an audio statement, informing us that the case is under investigation by U.S. authorities without specifying further details.

In her statement, she highlighted Won Bin’s respectful demeanor at the funeral, stating, “I didn’t know who he was at first or that he was famous in Korea. But I recognized what he did. He came quietly and showed sincere respect. That humanity meant more to us than words can express. We’re truly grateful.” While his agency has distanced him from the scandal, they emphasized Won Bin’s desire to honor Kim Sae Ron’s memory without contributing to speculation.
