Panic Erupts After Bomb Threat at K-Pop Concert

PLAVE terror threat suspect arrested after posting bomb threat on social media
A man in his 20s was caught after posting a bomb threat targeting virtual idol group PLAVE’s upcoming concert.
The Yongin Seobu Police in Gyeonggi Province identified the suspect as Mr. A. On August 19, 2025, around 1:50 p.m., he edited a promotional photo for PLAVE‘s encore concert at Gocheok Sky Dome (scheduled for November 21-22), adding the phrase “I will plant explosives” before posting it online.
Police arrested Mr. A within two and a half hours after receiving reports. During questioning, he claimed it was “just a prank.”
The case has now been handed to the police station with jurisdiction over his home for further investigation.
The number of bomb threats at K-pop concerts has been rising recently. Most turn out to be pranks, but the threats highlight ongoing security concerns.
