ASTRO Cha Eunwoo’s Advertising Deal Concludes Without Renewal Following Tax Evasion Issue

Cha Eunwoo is out as LG Uplus model amid tax evasion scandal.

The controversy started when the Seoul Regional Tax Office hit Cha Eunwoo with a ₩20 billion KRW ($13.7 million USD) tax assessment last year. This is reportedly the biggest tax evasion case involving a celebrity so far.

Soon after, LG Uplus ended their contract with Cha Eunwoo. Industry insiders confirmed the deal officially ended on February 6th. The idol had been the face of LG Uplus campaigns since 2024.

As the situation unfolds, LG Uplus made it clear their choice isn’t about the controversy.
