Leading Idol Actor’s Agency Receives Praise for Effective Ticket Scalper Prevention Strategy

Park Jihoon’s agency is shutting down ticket scalpers with a sharp new rule for his upcoming fan meeting.
The controversy started with the agency’s announcement: only fans who joined the fanclub before the event was officially announced can buy presale tickets. Anyone signing up after that cutoff won’t get presale access.
The deadline for membership was set at March 16, 2pm — no exceptions.
This move targets scalpers. Usually, scalpers rush to buy fanclub memberships right after a fan meeting announcement to snatch presale tickets. Then they resell tickets at crazy prices.
Fans spotted the smart play immediately. The agency locked out new memberships from the presale window, effectively blocking many scalpers from getting tickets early.
Park Jihoon’s star power is rising fast, especially after his movie The King’s Warden, so fans worried scalpers would swoop in.
The Korean fanbase loved the strategy.
“Only those who have registered for membership before March 16, 2pm, can participate.”
Fans celebrated on Twitter:
“ㅁㅊ 와와 똑똑하다
업자들 멤버십 가입해서 팬미팅 티켓팅하고
플미로 양도하니까;;; 공지 올린 시점으로
멤버십 가입해도 선예메 못하게 해놨네!!!!!!
일 잘한다!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Wow this is so smart of them. Since many scalpers register for memberships and do ticketing only to resell them at a higher price, they’re not letting people who register even from the point of this sales notice onwards buy during pre-sales. They’re so good at their job!”

Others rejoiced at the scalpers getting blocked:
“이건 일 잘했네 ㅋㅋㅋ 업자들 개 당황 했을 듯”

“They’re so good for this LOL. The scalpers are going to scramble.”

More fans want other agencies to copy this plan to protect real fans.
“우리도 본받았으면ㅠㅠ”

“I hope our side also learns from this.”
