The actress recently posted on her YouTube channel explaining why she picked the 2016 drama Come Back Mister, starring alongside Rain. It wasn’t just the script that drew her in—it hit close to home.
Her cousin, someone she loved deeply, died two years before the drama aired. The cousin left behind a baby, and that loss stayed with Lee Min Jung.
Lee Min Jung said:
“I thought it would be fun, but there was also a personal reason. My cousin, whom I loved the most, passed away two years before that and left behind a baby.”
Come Back Mister is about characters who return briefly after death to stay close to their families. That storyline mirrored her own feelings.
She added:
“He left this world while leaving behind a child, and you naturally have this feeling of wanting to see them again so badly. In the drama, the male lead suddenly passes away leaving behind a child and returns in a different body to stay around his family. Because of that, it felt even more emotional for me.”
Her candid story touched fans, who praised her honesty during this emotional reveal.
