aespa Faces Backlash for Embarrassing Mistake During Recent Comeback

aespa is facing heavy backlash after their latest comeback failed to hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The controversy began when SM Entertainment released multiple singles for each aespa member during the “LEMONADE” promotions. Fans and netizens called these moves “desperate” attempts to boost the song’s chart performance, speculating the agency aimed to secure a spot on the Billboard 100.

Soon after, it was revealed on June 9 that “LEMONADE” only ranked on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart at #7—a list tracking songs gaining attention but not yet on the main Hot 100.

Fans quickly reacted with harsh criticism, labeling the group’s efforts a “failure” and “embarrassing.” Many pointed out that despite releasing over 30 digital and streaming versions, aespa still couldn’t break into the Hot 100. Some highlighted the irony as aespa fans had previously claimed remixes guaranteed chart success.

aespa has once again failed to chart on Billboard Hot 100 despite releasing over 30 digital and on streaming versions
Congratulations to them on this record breaking failed attempt!

I’ve never seen a Kpop girlgroup try so hard to be global and we’re all like….go away.

but i thought kpop stans said remixes automatically help you chart or get into the hot 100 top 10, turns out you need ACTUAL demand for ppl to buy the song

SM failed once again
Unfortunately aespa’s single LEMONADE failed to enter the Hot 100 despite dropping 29 versions. SM entertainment remains without a Hot 100 entry.

With 30 Version and discounted 0.69 on i tunes and still Didn’t managed to debut this is embarrassing

MYs acting proud over Bubbling Under rankings will never stop being funny because #7 Bubbling Under does NOT mean #107 on the Hot 100
Any song that’s ever entered the Hot 100 is automatically excluded from Bubbling Under, so there are tons of songs effectively ranked above it…

As the situation unfolded, the backlash highlighted how little global impact aespa currently holds despite aggressive promotional strategies. The group’s “LEMONADE” remains off the main Billboard Hot 100 chart for now.
