Aespa Filled With Drama Queens? A Foreign Staff Member’s Experience Working With Them
aespa is putting rumors of bad attitudes to rest with proof of their kindness.
The controversy began after a TikTok exposé claimed a female idol called her friend a “pig,” sparking wild rumors that aespa were “drama queens” on set — all because of their song titled Drama. Fans weren’t buying it.
Soon after, a staff member who worked closely with aespa during the 2021 Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade shared a different story on X (formerly Twitter).
The staff described the girls — Karina, Giselle, Winter, and Ningning — as genuinely sweet and caring.
They were genuinely the sweetest to everyone working there.

Despite freezing weather, Ningning repeatedly offered the staff member a hot pack to keep warm. Even when it was refused, Ningning kept checking.
Ningning kept offering me her hot pack bc she saw I was lowkey fighting for my life because it was cold as hell, and I hadn’t worn gloves… I was like, ‘No omg, I’m okay,’ and she kept asking if I was sure.

Karina then ran over to place a hot pack on the staff member’s face, asking if it felt warmer.
Karina did a little cute run up to me and put the hot pack on my face until the managers called for her it was like 30 seconds max and she asked if I felt warmer and I was like, ‘Yassss thank u.’

Winter complimented the staff member’s bright blue hair, which they didn’t like at the time.
I hateddd [my hair] at the time I thought I looked ridiculous but when Winter saw me the first thing she said was that my hair was pretty i was like OH!

Giselle showed interest in the staff’s studies and future goals, calling them “cool” and hopeful to see them on set soon.
She called me cool and said she hoped to see me on a set with them soon.

The kindness was widespread — not just to this one staffer but to everyone working the event.
They were also this kind and friendly to the rest of the staff. They literally kept saying thank you to all of us, just the sweetest women ever.
