Byeon Woo Seok Takes Surprising Step Amid Financial Challenges

Byeon Woo Seok opened up about his money struggles and unusual way of dealing with tough times on the new Netflix variety show Jae-seok’s B&B Rules! airing from May 26.
The controversy began when Byeon Woo Seok revealed how, despite being in debt, he actually cut back on part-time jobs to focus more on acting.
On the show, an actor guest asked Byeon Woo Seok and Lee Kwang Soo for advice on handling long breaks with no work.
Byeon Woo Seok answered with a surprising take.
“It’s really tough, but I made a choice. There are many good people in this field, but the way to beat them is to immerse yourself in acting.”
He added,
“I had quite a bit of debt when I was young. But despite not having money, I actually reduced the time I spent on part-time jobs.”
“I thought that once your monthly income becomes certain, there comes a moment when you become complacent. I did that even while being in the red.”
Lee Kwang Soo weighed in too.
“More than anything else, I think the most important thing is to hold on mentally. I couldn’t endure the break well, so I focused on exercising hard.”
The new show stars Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, Byeon Woo Seok, and Ji Ye Eun running a lodging camp with activities like cooking and campfires. Episodes will roll out over two weeks.
Byeon Woo Seok, born in 1991, started as a model at 20 and began acting in 2016 with Dear My Friends. He gained fame with roles in Strong Girl Nam Soon and Lovely Runner.
Recently, he took the lead in the MBC drama Perfect Crown, which ended on May 16 but stirred controversy with accusations of historical distortion and the Northeast Project. Byeon Woo Seok expressed his regret in an apology statement.
