LE SSERAFIM Faces Backlash Over Short Outfits And Choreography For “Uncomfortably”

LE SSERAFIM is facing backlash over their outfits during a recent performance at the Seoul Music Awards 2026.
On June 20, LE SSERAFIM took the stage to perform “Spaghetti” and “Boompala” at the 35th Seoul Music Awards. The group won multiple awards, including the “World Best Artist Award,” “Best Digital Song,” and a Bonsang.
The controversy began during their “Spaghetti” performance. The choreography includes floor work where members spread their legs. Usually, the group wears outfits with longer safety shorts or cover-ups to accommodate this move. However, at this event, several members wore shorter-than-usual outfits, which made the move appear more revealing.
During the live broadcast, the camera mainly focused on Yunjin’s face, so the full dance move wasn’t widely seen. Soon after, fancams surfaced online showing the choreography in detail. Some clips were slowed down and sexualized, causing the videos to go viral.
Fans quickly reacted with mixed opinions. Many criticized the choice of outfits given the choreography’s nature. Others blamed those who shared and bookmarked the clips, saying they focused too much on an already risky move.
“This is exactly why I hate this choreography. What’s the point of making them wear such short shorts?”

“It’s sad. Whether it’s the creepy old men who make them do choreography like that, or the young girls who just do it because they’re told to… sigh.”

“안타깝다 저런 안무를 시키는 개저씨들이나 하란다고 하는 어린여자들이나 에휴”
— 하멜 (@harmel___)
“이래서 이 안무 싫다고 짧은바지 입히면 어쩌자는거야”
— 든가 (@jjungs_gf)
“eunchae looks so uncomfortable”
— leux (@baeyeonp)
As the situation unfolded, the debate centered on the clash between choreography and outfit choices. The performance outfits sparked a heated discussion about the group’s styling and the choreography’s appropriateness.
