Mnet Accused Of Manipulating Audience Reactions To BTS Performances

BTS faces backlash over viral claim accusing Mnet of faking audience reactions during their 2019 “Boy With Luv” performance.

The controversy began when a TikTok user posted a video alleging that Mnet edited a clip to show her enthusiastic reaction to BTS, but she was actually reacting to girl group Badkiz’s performance of “Hot Place.” The original poster said the network manipulated the footage to make it seem like she was watching BTS.

Soon after, the clip spread across X (formerly Twitter), sparking accusations that BTS’s label paid for the edit. Some users claimed the edit was made to highlight “white people in the crowd” as a bragging point.

And it’s not like they didn’t have people losing their mind there they definitely did they just wanted white people in the crowd to brag about them #lol

And they probably had no shortage of asian girls actually reacting to bts like that but they needed this one shot of the white girl to push their “global boy group” narrative

That’s next level embarrassment WHAT?!

As the situation unfolded, ARMYs pushed back hard, calling the claims baseless. Fans pointed out BTS was already a global sensation in 2019 and didn’t need fake reactions to boost their image.
